Most users will want to select Kilobytes as their Upload speed unit since this is what most will be familiar with. Kilobytes (most commonly expressed as KB/s) is what you will see in your browser when downloading a file.
For technical details, please see: Kilobytes
Note:
This calculator treats file size bytes as binary units to calculate its results.
One Kilobyte is defined as 1024 bytes (210).
This is technically incorrect by standard definition (should be decimal units) but will match file sizes in Microsoft Windows which also defines one Kilobyte as 1024 bytes.
The binary base used in this calculator is technically KiB (kibibytes).
In decimal base, one Kilobyte is 1000 bytes (101).
Please be aware that industry standards may change if Microsoft decides to adopt this new standard.
For example:
A file which is 11.4794921875 Kilobytes will be treated the same as a file which is 11,755 bytes.
This is achieved from the formula: Kilobytes = bytes / 210
